Under Construction…
If you have stumbled across this page, it is probably because you have spent some time viewing some of my work here on my blog. For that, I thank you. I feel it is very important to personally known my clients, and even more important for my clients to know me. This page is deticated to allowing potential clients (you) to know a little more about me. While most of my blog is about my clients, this is one of the sections that the focus is on me. So here goes…
I am from Houston, TEXAS! I am very happy to claim my home state. People usually have one of two opinions about Texans, they hate us or love us. I will agree, most Texans are pretty confident and proud. If you happen to be one of the types that loves Texas, we will get a long great! If you are one of the others, that is ok…I will try and win you over with my personality, and if that fails, my photography.
I have always been artistically minded. From as far back as I can remember, I was always the “School Artist”. This was a title that I enjoyed until kids were old enough to overwhelm me with requests for drawings. Then it really turned into a curse. Everyone would come to me to have drawings done, and usually NOT for any money. My third grade teacher (Mrs. Brantford) was my first teacher to comission me for artwork around her classroom. She would pay me to draw things for her bulletin boards. I found this extremely cool because it allowed me to make money towards video game rentals and such. Word spread to other teachers in my elementary school that I could draw and they tried to follow suit by having me draw things for their classrooms too. Mrs. Brantford was like my agent, “You better pay this boy, or he isn’t working for you at all!” Throughout my junior high time, this trend continued. Other students would ask me to draw them things, teachers would utilize me to improve the ambiance of their classrooms, and for the most part, things were pretty good. However, when I entered high school, drawing became something that I was good at but not something I enjoyed doing. I was in art class because I had always been in art. I did not really know much else.
I ended up turning down the prospect of attending art schools after high school, and joined the United States Air Force. This made my entire family very proud of me and disappointed at the same time. They were happy with my decision to join such a great cause, but could not understand why I had not decided to do something with my “God given talent”.
